R/E Rodgort Ranger, would this work?
I was thinking of this build on my drive to work today. It's primary use would probably be for 'Tombs', or any other places where Barrage is effective.
Start by dropping a Conflagration Spirit.
Hit grouped foes with Mark of Rodgort.
Spam Barrage.
I'm thinking this would cause the usual devistaion from Barrage, with the added effect of Burning from Rodgort's.
Firstly, is it that simple? or am I missing something?
Alternatively, you could just use a Fiery bow string, and not bother about Conflagration, but I like to use Vampiric when Barraging.
Your thoughts?

That sounds like a great idea. In tombs I think it would be great. -7 degen would really speed things up I would think. I will give it a try.

It's much easier to bring a fiery bowstring.
If you really miss the damage from the vamp, bring conjure flame and glyph of lesser energy to help out with energy.

Sorry mate
Wasn't trying to steal your work or anything, like I said, just thought about it while I was driving.

R/E builds with Conjure Flame and Mark of Rogdort work pretty well in PvE, but keep in mind that if you use this in Tombs, the Orders necro will be pretty useless to you since Orders only affects physical damage.

I'd assume that the orders still work when you use conjure since it just adds fire damage right?
Edit:
Basically though, people tried it out a year and a half ago and found that mark was too expensive to be worth it, the more recent update which both dropped the cost and made it aoe renewed its use, the idea IS an old one though and it works well. My point is that IF anyone thinks you are stealing 'their build' they are likely delusional, its an old one.

Nope, if you hit a foe with anything other than physical damage, then Orders will not trigger. Unfortunately, since you need to deal fire damage for Conjure Flame to work Orders will not stack with this skill.

when i barrage i do not put any skills in wilderness , just full out marksmanship + exp with the rest in bm. why bother waiting 3 seconds for a +8/10 regen for a bit when you can leave points out of wilderness and evade/block 75% of attacks instantly

as was said above, this cancels orders. But that might not be such a bad thing. Orders don't stack now, so if you can break +21 damage (17 for OOV, and 4 for Winnow) the build would work. It still needs tweaking though.

I tried using just MoR and a Fiery bow string, with 8 into Fire Magic (3 seconds of burning). I found it was quite good, the hex lasts ~20 seconds which is more than enough time to kill a group.
With the other B/P's doing the usual thing and me doing the above, we were able to dispatch groups quite quickly without too much fuss.
We ended up losing 2 B/P's during this run but the remaining 6 quite easily went on to kill the darkness'.
